She was born in Wilsonburg on January 10, 1924, a daughter of the late Robert Boyd Ewing and Florence Buck Ewing.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Washington Simons, who was killed during World War II on June 11, 1944.
She was also preceded in death by her second husband, John Frances Keough II, on June 6, 1989.
She is survived by six children, James C. Simons and his wife Jane, Bridgeport, Jackie K. Sirk, Fairmont, John Frances Keough III and his wife Robin, Buckhannon, Joyce Cochran and her husband Dale, Jane Lew, Joe Bob Keough and his wife Tracie, Jarvisville, and J.D. Keough and his wife Tammy, Bridgeport; grandchildren, Craig and Eric Simons, Bridgeport, Katie Griebel, Charleston, Elizabeth Keough, Clarksburg, John Frances Keough IV, Bridgeport, Liz Schmitt, Fort Hood, TX, Zachary and Travis Cochran, Jane Lew, Jennifer Jones, Belington, Josh Keough, Bridgeport, Makenzie Workman, Jarvisville, Mitchell Combs, Jarvisville, and Daniel and Alexis Keough, Bridgeport; eight great-grandchildren, Diego Guevara, Alex Simons, Lucy Keough, Ziva Keough, Samuel Romano, Zoey Romano, Grace Jones, Hannah Jones; two sisters, Betty Newlon, Philippi, and Joy Anderson, Bridgeport; a brother, Robert Ewing, Bridgeport; and many nieces and nephews complete her family.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Sigley and Maxine Burgoyne; and two brothers, Ralph Burton Ewing and Claude Ewing.
Lucille was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 75 years, and a member of the Trinity CEOS for over 50 years. She was proficient in sewing and baking, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and singing.
Her precious memories were erased by Alzheimer’s in her later years in life. The care that she received from the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital was greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten.
