Edward D. Stilles, 89, of Waynesburg, R. D. 2, died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 1971, following a long illness.
He was born May 7, 1882, in Wetzel County, W. Va., near Hundred, a son of Rachel Stiles. His wife, Laura Belle Braden Stiles, died April 30, 1966.
Mr. Stiles had spent his early life at Hundred, W. Va., and for the past several years at Waynesburg. He was a member of the Washington Street United Methodist Church.
Mr. Stiles had been a farmer and for several years was a teamster in the oil and gas fields.
Surviving are one daughter, Winifred, wife of Ellsworth Ankrom, of Waynesburg; one son, Wilbur Stiles, of Scotch Plains, N. J.; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
One infant daughter is deceased.
