Mrs. Wille E. Stiles


Shinnston--Mrs Elsie Mari Fortney Stiles, 71, of Rt. 1 Shinnston, died at 7:14AM Thursday, Dec 30, in a Clarksburg hospital following an extended illiness.


She was born Feb 10, 1905, in Marion County, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Belle O'Dell Fortney. Her husband Willie E. Stiles, preceded her in death July 20, 1968.


Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Martha) Gates, Mrs. Bud (Ruth) Duffield, and Mrs Carl (Helen) Butcher, all of Akron, OH, Mrs Brooks (Jean) Kester and Mrs David (Arwilla) Parrish, both of Fairmont; two sons Edgar M. Stiles of 107 Monroe St. Shinnston, Raymond Stiles at home; two brothers, Glenn Fortney, Lumberport; 19 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, She was preceded in death by twin infant sons, two brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Stiles was a Methodist by faith.
