NUTTER FORT — Vanessa Jean McNemar, 45, of Clarksburg, passed away Sunday,
Aug. 13, 2017, at her residence.
She was born in Fairmont, June 17, 1972, a daughter of the late Jerry Rush
and Deborah Stiles Rollins of North View. She was the stepdaughter of
Kent Rollins of Lost Creek.
Vanessa is survived by her fiancé, George Posey of Clarksburg; two daughters,
Danielle McNemar and companion Austin Fultineer of Lost Creek and Cierra McNemar
of Lost Creek; one sister, Tracy Dean and husband Edward of Clarksburg; and one
stepbrother, Clark Rollins and wife Heather of Fairmont. She is also survived by
her maternal grandmother, Doris Stiles of Clarksburg; and four nieces, McKenzie Dean,
Alyssa Dean, Trinity Rollins and Adair Rollins.
Per her request, Vanessa will be cremated.
A memorial Service will be held at the Quiet Dell United Methodist Church will be held
Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Brian Boley presiding.

House fire in East View leaves one woman dead

A house fire Sunday night in East View claimed the life of a  woman, officials said.
CLARKSBURG — A Sunday night house fire in East View has claimed the life of a local
woman, officials said early Monday moring.
Fire, police and EMS were dispatched to the scene of a structure fire at 9:18 p.m.
and found one house on fire and another nearby one threatened.
Reports indicate that firefighters were unable to reach one person in the main
residence and she succumbed in the blaze.
Fire departments from Clarksburg, Bridgeport, Nutter Fort, Anmoore, Stonewood,
Lost Creek and West Milford were dispatched. Anmoore EMS, Clarksburg Police and
State Police were also on scene.

UPDATE (8/15/17 at 11:15 a.m.):
A 45-year-old woman was killed in a fire in Clarksburg Sunday night, according to Clarksburg
Fire Inspector Chris Magee.
Four people were in the home at the time of the fire, Magee said, and three people were able
to escape. An elderly woman was able to exit from the ground floor, and a young girl and a man
exited from the second floor, Magee said.
Investigators believe the fire started in the kitchen and was related to a toaster oven that was
being used.
The West Virginia State Fire Marshal's Office will continue to investigate the blaze, but Magee
said the fire will most likely be ruled undetermined in cause.
An autopsy is being completed at the state medical examiner's office in Charleston, and the woman's
name will be released after her identity is confirmed, authorities said.
