She was born July 28, 1935, at home in Old Fields. WV to Arville and Pauline Wilt.
Violet is survived by her husband, three sons, 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, 19 nieces and nephews and her faithful collie, "Lady." She is also survived by two brothers
In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her sister, Anna, and her brother, Paul.
Over the years, Violet's passions were being a homemaker, mother and wife. She enjoyed time sewing and taught her oldest granddaughters to make clothes for themselves and their dolls. She loved square dancing, family games, reunions and moments of celebrations with her children and grandchildren.
Places of employment include the VA Hospital, Duke University, the US Navy, Rockingham National Bank, Franklin County Schools and the US Army at Fort Belvoir for 11 years.
A celebration of God's presence in her life will be held Monday, Feb 28, 2011 at Manor Memorial United Methodist Church, New Market, VA. A graveside service will be held at Olivet Cemetery in Moorefield, WV
Memorial contributions may be made to World Vision, Camp Overlook or your local 4-H Club.
