Marlene Gertrude Allen, 76, of Morton died Dec. 19, 2013. She was born on May 24, 1937 in Harmony to Walter and Rose (Schmidt) Kaiser. She was raised in Harmony. Her grandparents donated the land to build St. Ives Catholic Church in Harmony.
She married Lennis Allen in 1953. She was a member of the Cowlitz River Valley Historical Society and was involved in scouting for many years. She was also actively involved in the Washington State Quarter Horse Association and was in charge of the Baby Futurity. She loved her flowers and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Walter.
Marlene is survived by her husband, Lennis; son, Curt Atkinson of Glenoma; two granddaughters, Shelby Maier of Glenoma and Darien Atkinson of Glenoma; great-granddaughter, Braelynn; three sisters, Helen Mullins of Morton, Geneva of Seattle and Rosalee Beeks of Alaska; brother, Wayne Kaiser of Idaho.
Funeral services will be Jan. 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ives Catholic Church with a reception following at the church. Burial will follow at the Morton Cemetery. Newell-Hoerling's Funeral Home in Centralia is in charge of arrangements

G. MARLENE ALLEN, 76, Morton, died Thursday, Dec. 19, at Morton General Hospital. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at St. Ives Catholic Church, Mossyrock. Interment will follow at Morton Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Newell-Hoerling’s Mortuary, Centralia.
