There are 59 grandchildren and 132 great grandchildren all living. Mr. Nicely remains were laid to rest at the Adventist Church near where he lived. The large attendance at his funeral, which was preached by his pastor, Rev. P.M. Paxton, showed that he was esteemed by many. He was a quiet, unassuming man, full of energy and was always ready to help any good cause, public spirited and liberal. He was largely the motive power in the erection of two churches. The last four years were spent as a member of the Advent Church which was erected near his home. He served some time in the Civil War in Stonewall Jackson Brigade.
