Norma Russell Chapman, 89, of Morgantown, WV and formerly of Barrackville, WV died Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in the Mapleshire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 27, 1925 in Wana, WV a daughter of the late Francis Marion Stiles & Ada Olive Jackson Stiles. She was preceded in death by her first husband Chester Arthur Russell in 1970 and is survived by her second husband Eddie Chapman. Norma is survived by two sons and two daughter in laws John & Melody Russell of Fairmont and Curtis & Tera Russell of Fairmont, a daughter and son in law Lisa & Brad Straight of Barrackville, five grandchildren Meredith Russell Wilson, Mariah Russell, Tyler Russell, Aaron Straight and Morgan Straight and a great grandson John Christopher Wilson. She was preceded in death by her sister Lorraine Jones. She worked as a secretary/receptionist for Dr. Tsai in Fairmont from 1973-1990, as a sales clerk for the Wells Florist and was previously employed as a switchboard operator for the Fairmont Aluminum Company. Norma was a member of the Highland Avenue United Methodist Church, a 1943 graduate of Clay Battelle High School and a graduate of the Fairmont Business College. She enjoyed playing bingo and arranging flowers. The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554 Friday, July 17, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend David Cyphyers officiating. Ernest Lemar Stansberry, 79, of Fairmont, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at Fairmont General Hospital. He was born Dec. 13, 1920, at Little Falls, Monongalia County, son of the late Hugh and Edna West Stansberry.
He had worked for the Nehi Bottling Co. and Hope Gas before becoming disabled. He loved listening to the radio, especially polka music and talk shows.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Irene Gaskill Stansberry, whom he married July 27, 1941; a son and spouse, Hugh Donald and Darlena Stansberry, of Fairmont; three daughters and spouses, Linda Kay and Willard Lee "Sonny" Bashaw, and Lois Ellen and Harold Lee Stiles, all of Fairmont, and Deloris Ann and Terry White, of Morgantown; a sister, Arlene Cochran, of Fairmont; six grandchildren and spouses, Kevin Stansberry, Steve and Monica Stansberry, Mark Alan Bashaw, James Erie Stiles, Chad and Sherry Coogle, and Erin Christine White; two great-grandchildren, Kayla Kristine Bashaw Kisner and Annasticia Coogle; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Dylan Bice and Tommy Bice.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Beulah Hamell and Kathleen "Kitty" Garlow.
Friends may call at Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, 1-8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, until the 11 a.m. service.
