Jackie S. Wilt, 57, of Winchester, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Reid Hospital


in Richmond.


She was born on September 4, 1957 in Winchester to John A. Jarrett and Mary Jo (Shaw)


Hummel. She was a 1976 graduate of Winchester Community High School and was a Pharmacy Technician with CVS in Winchester. Jackie loved being a housewife and being able to take care of her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed being outdoors and working in her many flower beds, alongside her two yellow labs, Max and Maggie.

Survivors include her loving husband of 38 years, Brian K. Wilt of Winchester; her daughter, Kendra R. (Abe) Hart of Lynn; her son, Kameron J. (Jenny Morefield) Wilt of Lynn; four grandchildren, Kira and Dylan Hart, Katie and Jonathan Law, all of Lynn; her sister, Lisa (Chris) Allen of Fountain City; her mother-in-law, Patty Wilt of Lynn; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; mother; step-mother, Carolyn Sue (Lilly) Jarrett; son, Kyler Wilt; brother, John “J” Jarrett; and father-in-law, Ivan Wilt.


Funeral services for Jackie will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester with Jeff Raatz officiating. Burial will follow in Spartanburg Cemetery in Spartanburg.

Friends and relatives may call from 12-3 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Please note this is a change in location than previously stated.

     SHINNSTON — Wilbert Harold Helmick, 87, of Enterprise, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016, at his residence with his family by his side.

He was born December 27, 1928, in Worthington, the son of the late John and Dolly Carr Helmick.


Harold was a retired coal miner of 35 years and worked for Lowe’s for 15 years. He also loved woodworking, camping, cooking and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Coon’s Run Baptist Church.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Deloris J. Fleece Helmick; one son, Doug Helmick and wife Lori of Pittsburgh, Pa.; three daughters, Robyn Cunningham and husband Norman of Fairmont, Debbie Harris of Clarksburg, Alice Iannetta and husband Nick of Asheville, NC; two stepsons, Anthony “Tony” Lauderback and wife Debbie of Fairmont and Will Lauderback and wife Natalie of Charlotte, NC; one stepdaughter, Dott Faye Posey and husband John of Charlotte, NC; 18 grandchildren, Josh Helmick, Candi Stewart and her husband Kevin, Jenny Smallwood and husband Jeremy, Jessica Wysong and husband Mike, Jeremy Cunningham, Anthony and Joey Iannetta, David and Stefan Harris, Haleigh and Kyle Posey, Rosalyn and Tabetha Lauderback, Hayden, Lauren, Blake, Charlie Lauderback and Alexis McIntire; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alma Amodio of Fredericksburg, MD, and Wilma Lopez, of Martinsburg, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dewey and Johnie Helmick, and two sisters, Beulah Whitehair and Ruby Holbert.


At Harold’s request, there will not be a viewing or visitation. Graveside service will be held at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton on Friday, February 12, 2016, at noon with Pastor Sonny Palmer officiating. Full military rites will be accorded at the cemetery by the U.S. Army and the Taylor County Honor Guard.
