Obituary:


Wilbur Thomas Wilt, 74, of 213 Vine St., Westernport, passed away Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at Braddock Hospital, Cumberland.


Born Aug. 8, 1933, in Lonaconing, he was the son of the late W. Zedick and L. Alice (Broadwater) Wilt. A son, W. Thomas Wilt Jr.; two brothers, William Kenneth Wilt and Robert Wilt; and a sister, Betty Lou Wilt, also preceded him in death.


Mr. Wilt was a United States Army veteran. He was retired from Westvaco Corp., having worked in the wood yard as an operator.


He was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church, Piedmont, W.Va., a member of Victory Post 155 American Legion, Westernport, and a member of the Luke Local 676 U.P.I.U.


He leaves behind his wife, Velma (Grove) Wilt; two sons, Tim Wilt of Jessup, Mark Wilt of Blue Springs, Mo.; a daughter, Lori Kooken and husband Kurt of Backbone Mountain; three brothers, W. Marshall Wilt and wife Mary Ann of Westernport, Ronnie Wilt and wife Dottie of Westernport, Gary Wilt of Westernport; six sisters, Loretta Ryan and husband Ronnie of Flintstone, Lois Clark and


husband Harley of Keyser, W.Va., Delores Hamilton of Westernport, Phyllis Buskirk of Gilmore, Patricia Shillingburg of Keyser, and Shirley Baker and husband Johnnie of New Creek, W.Va. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Donnie Kooken, Kelli High and husband Kevin and Jessica Majors; a great-grandson, Kamden High; and his favorite companion, “Stinker”; and numerous other relatives.


The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Thomas Brackett and the Rev. William O’Haver officiating.
