Elizabeth Diane Dye
GRANTSVILLE — Elizabeth Diane Dye, 74, Grantsville, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at her residence.
Born on Sept. 26, 1943, in Keyser, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Franklin and Betty Lee (Gerard) Walker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Ruben Wilt; and one son, Timothy Wolfe.
Mrs. Dye was a press operator for the Fechheimer Shirt Factory, Grantsville, and attended the Cornerstone Assembly of God. She loved her family and reading.
She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Deeringwater and companion Mitchell Hardin, Lumber Bridge, North Carolina; one stepson, Russell “Ike” Wilt and companion Linda L., Accident; one stepdaughter, Diana Fountaine and husband Michael, Accident; two brothers, Todd Donovan and Pudge Donovan, both of Martinsburg, West Virginia; one sister, Rose, Martinsburg, West Virginia; seven grandchildren, Samantha, Justin, Jeremy, Robert, Kayla, Blake, and Jim; and five great-grandchildren.
At her request, her body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, is in charge of cremation arrangements.

SWANTON — Melvin R. Custer Sr., 87, Swanton, died on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Born on March 7, 1930, in Swanton, he was a son of the late Heyward S. and Effie B. (Friend) Custer.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War.
Melvin had worked for the former Westvaco Paper Mill in Luke, had been a realtor for Friend Realty, was the “Map Man” at the Garrett County Courthouse, and most importantly, was a farmer.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #71 in Oakland and the Garrett County Farm Bureau. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eileen Maxine (Fitzwater) Custer; five children, David Custer, Grantsville, Ralph Custer, Boise, Idaho, Glen Custer, Swanton, Norma Sisler, Oakland, and Melvin Custer Jr., Swanton; grandchildren, Jason, Eric, Amber, Michael, Brandon, and Amy Custer, Cameron and Nathan Sisler, and Melanie and Megan Custer; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Hubert Custer and wife Mae, Oakland, Dale Custer and wife Marie, Oakland, Leo Custer and wife Janet, Oakland, Roger Custer, Keyser, West Virginia, and Clarence Custer and wife JoAnn, Oakland; sisters, Mary Custer Bishop and husband Franklin, Mt. Airy, and Shirley Custer Bernard and husband Thomas, Oakland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Evelyn Custer Steyer and husband Samuel and Phyllis Custer Knepp and husband Benjamin; and a sister-in-law, Mary Custer.
Friends will be received at the C&S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland, this Friday, Jan. 5, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be held in the funeral home this Saturday, Jan. 6, at 11 a.m.
