SHINNSTON — Charles “Glenn” Lafferty, 82, of Clarksburg, passed away on April 16, 2018, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was born on January 17, 1936, in Clarksburg, son of the late Walter Dean and LaVada Mae Skinner Lafferty.
Charles graduated from R-W High School and served in the United States Navy. He worked at The Creasey Company until it closed and then was a general contractor for Clarksburg General Contracting until retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his son and wife, Richard Nathan Lafferty and Cynthia, Clarksburg; four children, Tara Ann Perri and husband John, Bridgeport, Jaime Amandalee Baker, Clarksburg, Rickie Dawn Lafferty, Nutter Fort, Travis Letour Baker and companion Nikkie Wolf; nine grandchildren, Jazmine, Dakota, Tiara, Sophie, Lillie, Aislynn, Natalie, Liam and Avva; one brother, Clarence Albert Lafferty, Clarksburg; one sister, Patricia Ann Wolford, Clarksburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Roberta Wolford Lafferty in 2002; one great-granddaughter, Allana Joy Baker in 2017; three sisters, Norma Jean Woofter, Carol Jean Bunch and Virginia Lorraine Lafferty; two brothers, Walter Keith Lafferty and James Harold Lafferty; and two siblings in infancy.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, on Friday, April 20, 2018, from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Hamlin presiding. Entombment will follow at Floral hills Memorial Gardens where military honors will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and U.S. Navy Reserve.

Obituary for Melvin Martin
Melvin “Jim” “Fuzz” Martin, 77, of Pine Bluff passed away on Friday, June 1, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family after a long courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on June 25, 1934 in Clarksburg a son of the late E. Blair and Georgia Provance Blocker Martin.
Mr. Martin is survived by his loving wife Thelma Collins Martin whom he married on September 10, 1966.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, James L. Martin and wife Darla of Pine Bluff; and Leanna B. Murray and husband Matt of Falling Waters, WV; his brother, Roger K. Martin and wife Brenda of Worthington; as well as his grandchildren, Hannah B. Murray and Nathan B. Murray of Falling Waters; and Jacob L. Martin of Shinnston.
Mr. Martin served our country in the U.S. Army. He was a retired truck driver for Henry Oil which later became RMF Oil Company. He was a member of the Pine Bluff United Methodist Church. He enjoyed volunteering at the Pine Bluff Church and Community Center with his friends Pat Matheny and the late Challens Blare. He also enjoyed vegetable gardening and participating in the Farmer’s Markets in Shinnston, Fairmont, and Clarksburg.
Friends will be received at the Harmer Funeral Home, Shinnston on Monday from 2-4 and 6-9PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 5, at 1:00PM with Rev.
