SWALLOW FALLS — Harry Eugene Werdebaugh, 75, Swallow Falls, passed away at his home peacefully on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.
Born June 29, 1942, in Swallow Falls, he was a son of the late Luther and Mary (Bathalow) Werdebaugh. He was also preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters, James, William, Thelma, Laura, Louise, Alice, Mary, Patsy, Jack, and Luther.
Harry was a retired welder who enjoyed life to the fullest. He was an avid fisherman, and went every year to Canada for his guys-only trip with family and friends. He loved cooking and working outside. He was also a fan of football, particularly the Ravens.

He loved people and was very close with his family. I’ve yet to meet a person who disliked Harry. He would have a conversation with just about everybody, and he would get to know you even if he just met you. Harry loved spending time with his wife, Judy, and his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He believed family was most important and showed it in every way, every day.
In addition to his loving wife, Judy, he is survived by four daughters, Aurelia Marple, Carol Corbin (and Steve), all of Oakland, Serena Futch (and Doug), Loch Lynn Heights, and Rechell Mruk (and Justin), Peoria, Ariz.; one stepson, Jimmy Walker (and Kristen), Oakland; one stepdaughter, Erin Moyer (and Rob), Swanton; two brothers, David and Ronald Werdebaugh, Ohio; one sister, Linda White, Oakland; a very special friend of the family, Cookie Lewis; 16 grandchildren, Wesley and girlfriend Jess, Jeremiah Wilt (and Lisa), Elaine Marple, John and Jack Corbin, Stephen, Nicole, Ricky, Sammy, and Mickaylee Seeders, Samantha and Noel Lucas, Geoffery Collins, Brandon Upole, Macey Walker, and Jessica Moyer; three great-grandchildren, Zach and Jensen Wilt and Nora Mae Broadwater; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews whom he loved very much.
Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes P.A., 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
A celebration of Harry’s life will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Friday, May 4, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Dennis Caton officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.
Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Cindy’s Fund, P.O. Box 182, Oakland, MD, 21550.
Condolences may be sent to his family at www.newmanfuneralhomes.com.
