Lydia A. "Peanuts" Curry, 68, of Jeannette, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, in Mercy Jeannette Hospital. She was born Nov. 25, 1936, in Westmoreland City, a daughter of Ruth M. Bower Rees, of Westmoreland City, and the late John A. Rees. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Lang's Department Store and she was the former owner of Lyd's Flower Basket. She was one of the founders of Y-Me of Westmoreland County and its Relay For Life. She was also a member of Westmoreland Regional Hospital Breast Cancer Support and Education Group. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas William Guy; her sister, Mary Ruth Elliott; and her best friend, Irene Macrania. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Richard Curry; two daughters, Lori Monstrola and her husband, William, of Penn Township, and Cindy Zalevsky and her husband, Harvey, of Stahlstown; four grandchildren, Shawn Stuchell, Nicole Panigal, Michelle Monstrola and Matthew Panigal; a sister, June E. Redding and her husband, James, of Mt. Pleasant; two brothers, John A. Rees and his wife, Sharon, of Las Vegas, Nev., and David T. Rees and his wife, Marianne, of Penn Township; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved pet, Mikey. Friends will be received Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette, at which time services will be held with the Rev. Robert Guy officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Y-Me Team for the Relay For Life, c/o Westmoreland Chapter of the American Cancer Society, P.O.
