MTN. LAKE PARK — Judith Ann (Legeer) Wilt, 75, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at her home in Mtn. Lake Park.
She was born June 19, 1943, in Baltimore. Judy was preceded in death by her father, William Legeer; her mother, Mildred (Mellinger) Crane; and step-father, Robert Crane. She was also preceded in death by four siblings, William Legeer, Evajean (Legeer) Smith, Vauda Legeer and Christine (Legeer) Tasker.
Judy was primarily a homemaker. She also worked for Community Action for several years and was a devoted member of the Calvary Tabernacle, Accident, until her health prevented her attendance.
Judy was a very loving and generous person to so many, especially to children.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Lloyd A. Wilt; a sister, Lois McHale, York,Pa.; and brother, John Legeer, Elk Garden, W.Va.; two aunts, Lois Williams, Bel Air and Amelia (Mellinger) Wolf, Oakland; and two uncles, John Mellinger Jr., Levels, W.Va. and William D. Mellinger, Edgemere.
Judy is also survived by two sons, Joseph Locke, Bel Air, and Robert Locke, Mtn. Lake Park; a step-daughter, Kristiann Germain, Oakland; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is also survived by many dozens of foster children to whom she and Lloyd opened their home for over 20 years — all of whom she loved very much and who loved her.
Judy’s family would like to thank everyone who has helped care for her over the years, but most especially Cherie Simmons, Chelsea (Locke) Heath and Janice Kelly, who have truly gone above and beyond in their care for Judy.
Other people the family wishes to thank for their help and devotion include Bodine Kelly, Matthew Swapp, Angie Perry, Susan Parsons, IDF, Home Health and Hospice of Garrett County.
