Birth Note:    Have not been able to locate a birth certificate. Information passed down by my father, William E. Gillespie, indicated he was born on 7 May 1865. The Census for 1900 lists his age as 34 which would make his year of birth as 1866. His marriaged certificate lists his age at 19 as of the date of marriage on 7 Jan 1886. If true, he would be 20 on 7 May 1886.
