OAKLAND — Albert Neal Sweitzer, 88, Oakland, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, at Garrett Regional Medical Center, Oakland.
Albert was born April 2, 1930, and was preceded in death by his wife, Ann L. Sweitzer; both of his parents; two stepsons; and numerous brothers and sisters.
He worked for the railroad, working on tracks and enjoyed hunting in his spare time. He was a U.S, Army veteran of World War II and was a former member of the Proctor-Kildow American Legion Post 71, Oakland.
He is survived by one stepson; three stepdaughters; a sister, Clara May, Grantsville; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, on Friday from 10 a.m. to noon. A service will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Friday, Sept. 14, at noon, with Pastor Russell Liller officiating. Interment will be in the Deer Park Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by local veteran’s organizations.
