Jack W. Crites
BRIDGEPORT — Jack W. Crites of Bridgeport passed away peacefully, Saturday,
January 12, 2019, surrounded by his loving wife, daughters and special nephew.
Jack was born in Hepzibah, West Virginia, on April 2, 1932, son of Major and
Eva Crites.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Jo (Fernandez) Crites, of Bridgeport;
his daughters, Denise Trimboli of Morgantown and Michele Crites Battié of London,
Ontario; his grandsons, Joey Trimboli of Washington, D.C., and Jackson and Zakari
Crites Videman of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; nephews, Phil Gregoire of North
Carolina and Don Gregoire of Ohio and families. Also surviving are his brother,
Gene Crites and his wife, Maureen, of Sarasota, Florida; sisters-in-law, Doris
Greathouse of Pennsylvania, Sandy Lefever of Shinnston and Linda Fernandez of
Ontario, Canada, as well as brothers-in-law, Bob Lefever and Bob McGee, and many
other cherished relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lelah Gregoire, baby daughter, Renée,
and brothers-in-law, Fred Fernandez and Chuck Greathouse.
Having served in Germany, Jack was a proud Cold War veteran, as a member of the 1st
Infantry Division, also known as the Big Red 1. He was an active member of the
American Legion and supporter of Wounded Warrior Project. He retired from J.A.
Jones Construction Company as a project manager after overseeing many projects
across the country and living in Washington State, North and South Carolina,
Florida, Maryland, Puerto Rico and elsewhere. He was a loving husband and father,
and was dedicated to his extended family and friends. Jack was so loved by our
family and will be missed beyond words.
A private memorial for the family will be held at a later date. Donations to
Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Jack would be appreciated

Wilda Harsh
AURORA — Wilda Marie Adams Wilt Harsh, 92, of Aurora passed away at her home on Thursday,
Jan. 10, 2019.
She was born Oct. 7, 1926, in St. George, W.Va., a daughter of the late Selby Ray Sr.
and Ethel May Miller Adams.
She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Harold Dale Harsh. Also surviving are two
sons, Eugene (Linda) Wilt of Rowlesburg and Steven (Cheryl) Wilt of Eglon; four daughters,
Beverly (Randy) Whetstone of Petersburg, Janice (Arthur) Forman of Amboy, Cathy (Tom) Barr
of St. George, and Martha (Danny) Poling of Parsons; one brother, S. Ray (Lucille) Adams
of St. George; three sisters, Beatrice (George) Dean of Concord, Calif., Lillian Mick of
Philippi, and Lily Nestor of Hambleton; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one
step-son, Roy (Mary) Harsh of Erie, Pa.; two stepdaughters, Rose (Larry) Collier of San Antonio,
Texas, and Diane (Rich) Stevens of Cumming, Ga.; seven stepgrandchildren; nine stepgreat-
grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her first husband and father to her children, Bernard Wilt,
and second husband, Frank Stemple.
Wilda enjoyed reading, quilting, sewing and cooking. She was a member of the Aurora United
Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, was a former treasurer and Sunday School
teacher. Over the years, she was active in various community organizations. Her pride and
joy was her family. She was known for her love and patience with everyone.
The family would like to thank those who helped care for Wilda over the past few years.

Friends were received at the Aurora United Methodist Church, Monday, Jan. 14. The funeral
service immediately followed the visitation, with Rev. Anna Efaw officiating. Interment
followed in the Limestone Cemetery.
