JAMES F. WILT, 90
Monongahela Power Co.
TEQUESTA - James F. Wilt, 90, of Tequesta, Florida, died on January 4, 2009, of complications from a broken heart as he was recently predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Kathryn Toothman Wilt on March 31, 2008.
He was the son of Glen F. and Lula Wilt of Fairmont, WV. He graduated from Fairmont West HS in 1936 and after a series of jobs, began to work for Monongahela Power Co. for 41 years. He first worked at their Rivesville Power Station. He then progressed to plant manager there and then on to Division Manager in Morgantown and Division Manager in Parkersburg, WV, from where he retired in 1983.
He was also predeceased by his brother Lawrence Wilt and is survived by a sister, Betty Carpenter. He is also survived by his three children, Judy K. Rowley, of La Quinta, CA and James L. Wilt and Laura Secheyco of Jupiter, Florida. He was a life long member of the Church of Christ and served as an elder in the church in Barrackville and Morgantown. He is further survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at the Lakeland Funeral Home, 2125 S. Bartow Hwy, Lakeland, Florida, (863-686-2125) at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7th. A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 6th from 6-8 p.m.

     Chris Everly Wilt

Chris Everly Wilt, 71, of Fairmont was granted his angel wings on Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg following a 20 year courageous battle against Parkinson's Disease.

He was born in Fairmont on December 1, 1940, a son of the late Lawrence and Beatrice (Stanley) Wilt.


Chris proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Department of Defense after working as an Aerospace Engineer. He was innovative in the development of many military air craft and weapon defense systems. In particular, a computer flight simulation for testing aircraft to save pilots lives. He was a graduate of West Virginia University with a BS Degree. He obtained a Masters' Degrees from the University of Maryland and Virginia Tech University.

Chris was a member of the White Hall Church of Christ and the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. He led an extremely active life. He enjoyed studying Genealogy, Electronics and computer flight simulators. He loved spending time with his family, boat rides, fishing and playing cards with his wife.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Ruth Ann (Stout) Wilt of Fairmont, his son, Glen Andrew Wilt of Huntsville, Alabama, his daughters, Shelly Renee Wilt of Tampa, Florida and Cynthia Elaine Dean of Fairmont and seven very special grandchildren, Reuben Wilt, Elijah Edwards, Malachai Edwards, Jacob Edwards, Kyle Dean, Kenneth Jenkins and Kaden Dean.

Also surviving are his brother, Lawrence Earl Wilt, Jr. and his wife, Arlene of Fairmont; his sister, Rebecca Haun and her husband Don of Fairmont.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law William Dean and a sister, Barbara Wilt, in childhood.


In keeping with the wishes of the deceased, his body will be cremated.
