Note for:   Catherine Kergesen,   ABT 1746 - ABT 1800         Index

Individual Note:
From "A Sketch of the Broadwater Family and its Connections", written by Amos Broadwater in the year 1891.

"I will give you a small sketch of grandmother Beavers. She was married twice. Her first husband was Henry Wilt. By him there were four children born, namely, Michael, Eva, Henry and Peter. Her second husband was Jacob Beavers. By him she had two daughters, viz., Mary M., my mother, and Easter, who married Martin Polen, and moved to the west in an early day. I was at their house once when they lived in Perry County, Ohio. There were a number of children - all girls.

Uncle Michael Wilt and grandmother Beavers moved from Loudoun County to Allegany County about the year 1802, and lived and owned the farm now owned by Esquire Fazenbaker. Grandmother Beavers lived with him until her death. Michael Wilt moved to Savage river and lived and died on the farm now owned by Eliza Wilt, which he purchased from Solomon Monroe. His brother, Peter, moved from Fairfax County and settled on his farm and farmed with him for some time and then moved upon Swamp Ridge, now owned by George Warnick. He lived there five or six years, and then moved back to Fairfax County. There his wife died. She was buried at the Fairfax burial ground. He married another lady by the name of Jennie Woogit. He died in Fairfax County and was buried there."

Susannah (maiden name unknown) Wilt Beavers was from Loudoun County, Virginia. She died in Allegany County, Maryland.

Peter Wilt moved back to Fairfax County, VA, and died there, now Allegany County, MD
